Now it has happened!

So it finally happened, what no one would ever have believed. Finland won the Eurovision Song contest.
I myself have never been a fan of Lordi, and I can’t really say I that I am one now either. But somehow I understand the thing they have going. It’s kinda similar to what Spawn and Rob Zombie represents, the funniness of old 60’s horror-movies and the longing to be over everything else.
How funny all this may be, there is one passage in the Bible that springs to my head…
Jude 1:8 and forward
“In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings. But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals- these are the very things that destroy them.”
This passage comes to me every time I hear Lordi sing “The devil is a looser and he’s my bitch…”
This thing is very though for me, as I love metal music very much. But I do love the Lord Jesus Christ much more.
One thing that is kind of alarming is, in my opinion, that a gospel band from Israel did not get more than about 4 points…
I mean, either there are no Christians in Europe or then they just don’t care.
Well, anyhow. I feel very strange about this, yesterday I was laughing and had a great time, and in some way I’m actually very glad that they won, as I don’t have much over for the Eurovision song contest. And much rather Lordi winning than any of those who seemed to have forgotten all of their clothes at home.
Ok, good for Lordi, and good for Finland, a Bwahaahahaaa to the ESC.
But I will not praise Lordi in any Lordi-boom that may sweep over Finland. Good music but the lyrics I will never agree upon.

Huh? That group from Israel was only nearly-pseudo-we-say-something-but-not-quite-gospel, I'd say.
And Lordi's victory was a victory of the Good Taste and Morale in ESC, for once! One of the very few who did not try to sell their music with sex. ("shock value", perhaps...)
But anyway. ESC is still just a huge farce. Didn't watch half of it anyway. No, wait, didn't watch it at all! Oh, there goes my cool.

@Jimmy: Yes, that's about the same thing I said in my post. Except for the Israeli part... And you're right, maybe Lordi singing straight out about hell will give some Christian artist some balls to sing what they really mean.
Yes, it was a "nor cold or warm but the other-thing-thingy" over it all.
@Imre: The song I referred to is another song by Lordi called "The devil is a loser". And I too agree with Jimmy. Schlager-Carola-Diva also seemed to be the only one who according to Lordi understood them... So don't be too rude on her.

snacka inte om o'boy nar det finns folk som laser som inte har o'boy in their country.
och mazze, suck nu pa det du ha kaki...vi hade actually 30 grader dagen du skrev vi hade 16...nej nej nej! ack sa fel du hade :) det var svettigt och skont...idag ar det dock en annan story.

@Cherie: Oj oj, 30 grader... Hur fel kan inte Pohjalainen ha ibland! Men idag så regnar det också i Finlando och vädret är inte alltför skönt och så.
I will say hi to them all! But what the fudge is "cliiroons"?
Say hi to Keiran from me will you! I never got to go to a football/rugby game with him. Not even a cricket game, that would have been the bajs. =)

Wisst wisst.
Snärtigt när bannern går ner i sidan utan att brytas. Nu lanserar även vbl en bloggservice och Kjell i maxmo kan även han berätta om vad han vet. Krisitin Siegfrieds tippas vara Österbottens enda alternativ till nästa års euroviisa. Ska vi ställa upp? Jimmy e du me oxå?

wierd i say... wierd... even more wierd is the embarasing fact that my husband and i, no fans of ESC at all, all of a sudden sat there on the sofa screaming YEEEESSS! everytime lordi got a 12 or 10... (at the end even when they got an 8)
sigh. we are such hypocrits...
