Story Of The Day
So, there he was sitting. At his desk, staring at the display, trying to figure something out.
His head felt kind of thick, the thoughts did not reach their intended target, something was blocking their path. A small flag, brightly yellow and blue with the corporate logo on it, was placed right by the monitor. He gave it a look and thought "you won't last long now, you may look old and solid, and you may think you represent something lasting, but you don't...".
Once again he stared at the screen, trying to get his train of thoughts going again. It really didn't seem to work. He took a deep breath just to try to figure out what the air of the office smelled like. It didn't smell like anything at all. Had he become too used to the air that he was no longer able to describe the smell of it? Did it even have a smell? A scent? An odour? He couldn't remember ever reflecting on it, ever. And now, when he took the time to do it, it was too late, there was nothing to reflect upon any longer.
The display was now staring back at him, kind of anticipated, waiting for something to happen, "Not today it seems" he replied. The display stared some more.
The only sound he heard was the humming of the air-conditioning device. It was soft and soothing. He realized that his office condition was perfect for making him sleepy. He thought it was weird that the optimal conditions to work in were the same conditions that were perfect for a nap. But quite fast he brushed off all thoughts about sleeping, "someone would probably turn up with something important at that very moment, it would probably also be my boss". He once again turned his head against the monitor, "you and me, for two hours more. Let's get things going".
The clock dragged itself to the point of reached the end of the day. The old man took a quick look on his wrist-watch, it was a cheap copy of a rolex bhought by a black man with white teeth on a beach in Teneriffa, "It's time" he said softly. He rose up from his chair, pushed it gently under the desk, took one final glance at his neatly cleaned working space, sighed and buttoned his jacket. He shut down the lights as no one else was left at the office, he logged out at the door with the machine doing one final and angry beep-sound.
Just before getting seated in the car, he turned around and faced the dark windows of the office one last time. He mumbled to himself "happy retirement Curt". Then he sat down in the driver seat and started driving home to his retirement party.

What a Week
This week has been so busy.
I've been standing on roads freezing until 7 for two days now. One of the days I stood there for 12h.
Now I feel weird, and I think a truck is driving around in my head.
Today I'm gonna rest, and tomorrow we are off to Turku to see Holy Blood and two finnish bands.
It will be swell! I just hope we get there in time to get tickets, or else we've driven 300 km in vain.
Have a great weekend. I believe that I will!

They're Out After Your Money
Several people that I know have been approached by two companies/organisations called Move and S2E(Shop To Earn), these two are network/pyramide style based organisations. I don't know the full story behind S2E, but I've heard that is in fact the very same company as Move.
I myself have been approached by similar organisations in the past, and I have had a rather innocent picture of these organisations. I thought that you really could earn a buck or two if you really worked your butt off, but that it just wasn't for people who did not have a sales-person personality.
Today I know better, after a friend of mine attended a meeting that Move arranged, he started doing a bit of research on the whole thing, and it was also after reading the contract that one has to sign to join that I also took a closer look upon the Move organisation.
These organisations are even potentially dangerous to join. The whole concept is made up so they will earn heaps of money and you will earn nothing. They have also put the contract up so that it is you that will take all the blame if something goes wrong.
Two short examples.
- The way they get people to join is the following: You get invited for a coffe where they sit and explain to you how much you will earn, how easy it is and how much help and training you will receive. The funny thing is that all these things are forbidden for them to do according to the contract they have signed. They may not promise that you will earn anything, they may not promise you any training and so on... Interesting, isn't it?
- There is usually a fee that is about 1000€ that one has to pay to join. And if you are active you can actually earn back about 600-700€ in a couple of weeks by recruiting about 6-7 people to Move. But to get the last 300€ back is more demanding, then you have to recruit about 20 people more... And after that you have only earned back the sum that you already have paid Move. On the other hand, Move have earned about 30,000€ thanks to you, fair isn't it?
There are good info to be found on the net regarding these kind of organisations.
Move and S2E are probably only based in the Nordic countries, and the info I've found is in Finnish. But if you want to find more info, search the net or ask me for the finnish sites I've checked.

Fatty Brain Building Acids

Well, it's really nothing new. When I started school at the age of 6, or 7, can't remember, they made us eat this horrible fish-liver-oil that stinked badly and tasted even worse. But they said it was good for you. Now this has become something for the news headlines again. They have researched the Omega 3 oils and some of the researchers say that it really does a lot for your brain.
I've also heard about a story where they started feeding Omega 3 oils to prisoners in a prison, and after a while violence went down with 3/4 in that prison. That is only something I've heard, nothing to take all too seriously.
But hey, eat fish and eat lots of it. It is healthy and your brain grows!
And fish is yummy!
And nowadays they have the horrible fish-liver-oil in small capsules, so you won't have to taste or smell them as you eat your Omega 3's. I have a small jar/can/whatever-burk at home with these small buggers. And I eat them whenever I remember to do so.

Old Drawing

But I guess I have to be satisfied with being a construction engineer instead of a comic drawin artist, the pay is probably better and the competition is not as hard.
But what do you think? Comment on something regard this matter.
Btw, I've read that if you concentrate on doing something within an narrow area, you will reach the level of a genius in that certain area within ten years. But that is if you do it full-time, every day, for 10 years. Don't remember how many hours per day that was, but it was a lot of hard work.
So, have a nice weekend and good night.
