Buy A Goat For Christmas!
Seriously.
I want to challenge every one who reads this post to give 10% of all the money that you've planned on spending on Christmas gifts to charity.
One good way to do it, if you can't come up with any yourself, is World Vision.

Metro Ministries
I have been reading about Metro Ministries and looking at some videos about them today.
It's not just heart-breaking, it's heart-slaying/crushing/smashing/bashing.

Ebbsfleet United
I haven't showed an interest in football since I was 13 years old.
But now I read something that cought my interest again.

MyFootballClub is a venture that aimed to register 50,000 football enthusiasts to form an Industrial and Provident Society which would purchase an English football club, with funds gathered from members of the society. On 13 November 2007, it announced it had reached an agreement in principle, pending due diligence and a members vote, for the purchase of Ebbsfleet United F.C. of the Blue Square Premier.

So, it's a football club in England that is owned by the fans, and managed by the fans.
This idea intrigues me very much. It's like those football manager games I played as a kid, but only for real.
It will be very interesting to follow their progress, and probable success.
It's funny cause this team is in a very low division/league, but with the new funds and support they will probably rise pretty quick. :)
Just a fast example to show you what I mean.
On their last game before being bought by MyFootballClub they had about 500 spectators.
On their first game under the ownership of MyFootballClub they had about 4,500 spectators.
You do the maths. :)
I will follow the games of this team from now on.
Next game will be on Saturday at 1 pm (in Finland).

Father's Day
So yesterday was father's day and it was my second, and best, so far.
I got a framed picture with some trolls in it by Aron which was wrapped in paper that he had decorated himself.
The paper was fabulous, a bit simplistic as he had not liked to have the fingerpaint on his hands. :)
Then I got a chocolate christmas calender and a newly translated Tintin magazine by Tanja.
Just a totally excellent father's day.
In church there was a Sermon about being a good father, it was a hard but very good sermon.
I really like our Pastor, he can put forth very heavy topics without making you feel bad or condemned in any way. You just feel uplifted and motivated to make a change for the better afterwards.
And to end this post I must post a picture I found while browsing the net.
The picture isn't nice, but it's good. I find it fascinating, scary, a bit silly, and all kind of things.
A good picture, not very nice, but it sure stirs some feelings.
What do we want to give our kids? What can we give them to survive in this world, and maybe even make it a bit better?
(Bah! I wasn't logged on with my own account... I'll post the pic as soon as I log on with my account.)

My Feel-Good Band
I don't listen to much mainstream/secular/non-christian/wahteveryouwannacallit music.
But there is one band that I like very much, and they usually manage to put a smile on my face.
Can't stop loving the Foo Fighters.
This is my feel-good music.
Just gotta love that sound.
Don't you love them too?
More power to them I say.

About Being a Stressed Out Jerk
I have to begin this post by apologizing, first of all to my wife and son for being such a jerk this morning for no reason what so ever. I got stressed, irritated and angry for no actual reason. My brain was just disfunctioning.
And secondly to those who met me in the traffic, to those I honked at and those I did not let cross the street.
It's funny how one can become so single-minded and stupid when being stressed.
Suddenly everything is everyone else's fault and nothings your fault even is it's you being the idiot.
There is already too many stressed people in this world.
I don't want to become another one.
Let's all just dump that stress.
Dump it at the cross.

Downfall of Society
Soooo....
Today I saw that I am to have three evening-shifts at work this week.
So I thought that "Hey! Then I can finally go to the dentist, which I have postponed now for three years...".
I pick up the phone and call them.
They tell me that I can get an appointment.
I think that's great.
They tell me it's on the 15th of January.
Ok.
Well.

From Russia With Hate
An internet acquaintance of mine from Russia is working as a journalist/tv-producer and he has been working on this short documentary about neo-Nazis in Russia.
It's only 20 minutes long and well worth checking out.
Alot of graphic violence though.
